Two ways to use it
It works with a PiggySize account. It also works without one.
On its own
Open the popup, type your take-home pay per hour, and you’re done. Add your age and the age you want to retire and it can show the invested-instead figure too — it starts from 4% growth and age 65 until you change them. No account, no email, no sign-up.
Connected to your account
Generate a token at Settings → Browser extension, paste it into the popup, and the badge uses your real after-tax hourly wage and your own retirement settings — no re-typing when your pay changes. Revoke the token from that same page whenever you like.
Privacy
A shopping extension that doesn't watch you shop.
This is the part most price extensions get wrong, so here it is in plain words.
It reads the price. That is the whole list.
On a product page the extension looks for one thing — the price — and uses it to do the arithmetic. It does not read your cart, your account, or anything else on the page.
It only runs on supported shopping sites.
The extension is installed with permission for those retailers and nowhere else. On every other site on the internet, none of its code runs at all.
We never receive your browsing.
Not the sites you visit, not the pages you view, not the products you look at. What the extension reads on a page never leaves your browser, and the part that runs inside the page cannot make network requests.
It talks to PiggySize, and to nobody else.
There is no analytics service, no ad network, no third party of any kind in the extension. If you never connect an account, it makes no network calls at all.
The only thing that travels the other way is your own pay
If you connect an account, the extension asks PiggySize for the figures it needs to do the sum, and nothing else: your take-home and gross hourly pay, your daily take-home, your growth rate, your retirement age, and your years to retirement. No balances, no salary, no bills, no family data. The arithmetic then happens in your browser.

These buttons are switched off because the store listings aren’t live yet, and we’d rather show you a disabled button than a link that goes nowhere. They’ll turn on here as soon as each listing is up — this is the easy route, and it’s worth waiting for if you’re not in a hurry.
Early access: install it yourself
For people who want it now, before the store listings are live. It’s the same build, loaded by hand — a few more steps, and one real catch on Firefox that we want you to know about before you start, not after. You will never need to turn off a browser security setting to do this.

- Download the zip below and unzip it. Keep the unzipped folder somewhere safe — your browser loads the extension from that folder every time it starts.
- Open
chrome://extensions(on Edge,edge://extensions). - Turn on Developer mode with the toggle in the top-right corner.
- Click Load unpacked and choose the folder you unzipped.
- Open the PiggySize popup from the toolbar and enter your take-home hourly pay, or paste a token from Settings → Browser extension.

Questions people ask
- Do I need a PiggySize account?
- No. Type your take-home hourly pay into the extension's popup and it starts working. An account just means you don't have to type anything, and the numbers stay in step with your real income.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. The extension is free, and it works on a free PiggySize account — or on no account at all.
- Which stores does it work on?
- Product pages at Amazon, eBay, Best Buy, Walmart and Target (their .com sites) today. Adding a store is a small change on our side, so the list grows.
- What does "if you invested it instead" mean?
- It's the same money compounded at your own growth rate until your own retirement age — a way of seeing the trade-off, not a forecast, a recommendation, or investment advice.
- What does connecting an account actually send?
- One request, to PiggySize, for your pay and retirement figures: your take-home and gross hourly pay, your daily take-home, your growth rate, your retirement age, and your years to retirement. No balances, no salary, no bills, no family data.
- How do I disconnect it?
- Open the popup and click Disconnect, or revoke the token from Settings → Extension in PiggySize. Revoking stops the extension pulling your numbers immediately.
- Is there a Safari version?
- Not yet. Safari extensions have to be wrapped in an Xcode project and go through App Store review, so it's deliberately out of scope for the first release.
