Marketing emails are the occasional notes about new features, money tips, and offers. They're separate from your reminder emails, and you control them with one switch in Settings › Notifications.
Before you start
- Available on every plan, Free and Pro.
- Every account has this switch, including child accounts. Anyone who can be sent a marketing email can turn it off.
Steps
- Go to Settings › Notifications (opens in a new tab).
- Find the Marketing Emails card. On an owner or spouse account it sits below Email Reminders; on a child account it's the only card there.
- Turn Product news and offers on or off.
- The switch saves immediately — there's no separate save button.
Turning them off from an email instead
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it opens a confirmation page with a button; nothing changes until you press that button, so an email app that quietly scans links can't unsubscribe you by accident.
That link only ever turns marketing email off. To turn it back on, use the switch in Settings.
Good to know
- It starts off. The signup form has an unticked box — "Occasional product updates and planning tips. No spam — unsubscribe anytime." The switch is on only if you ticked it. Signing up with Google or another provider leaves it off.
- Marketing is not the same as reminders. The eight reminder emails in the Email Reminders card have their own switches. Turning marketing off changes none of them, and vice versa.
- Some email always sends. Sign-up verification, password resets, billing receipts, family invitations, and security notices aren't marketing, so this switch doesn't affect them.
- Support can turn it off for you but can't turn it back on. If you ask us by phone or email to stop marketing email, we can do it. Turning it back on is something only you can do, from this switch.
FAQ
Does turning marketing emails off stop my bill reminders?
No. Marketing email and the reminder emails are separate settings. Turning marketing off leaves every reminder exactly as you set it.
I never turned marketing emails on. Why is the switch off?
Because it starts off. The signup form has an unticked box for product updates and planning tips — the switch is on only if you ticked it.
Can I turn marketing emails back on after unsubscribing?
Yes. The unsubscribe link only ever turns them off, but you can turn the switch back on yourself in Settings › Notifications.
Will PiggySize still email me if marketing is off?
Only email you can't opt out of: sign-up verification, password resets, billing receipts, family invitations, and security notices.
