You can permanently delete your PiggySize account yourself, from the Settings page. Deleting is final: it cancels your subscription with no refund and erases your family's data. Only the account owner can do it, and it cannot be undone.
Before you start
- Owner only. Only the account owner can delete the account. A spouse or child who tries gets an error, and the delete option does not show for them.
- There is no undo. Once you confirm, your data is gone for good.
- Download your data first. Deletion erases everything, so if you want to keep a copy, use Download my data on the Your Data card in Settings before you delete. Afterward there's nothing left to retrieve.
- Deleting the owner deletes the whole family. Every family member loses access right away.
Steps
- Go to Settings (opens in a new tab) and scroll to the Danger Zone card.
- Choose Delete Account.
- In the pop-up, read the warnings. In the confirmation box, type the exact
phrase shown, which is DELETE MY ACCOUNT followed by your email — for
example,
DELETE MY ACCOUNT you@example.com. - Choose Permanently Delete Account. The button stays locked until the phrase matches exactly.
What deletion removes and what is kept
- Removed for good: your income, bills, assets, debts, goals, businesses, retirement settings, snapshots, family members, and your profile and login.
- Billing is canceled: any active subscription is canceled through Stripe as part of deletion. No refund is issued.
- Kept about 7 years: a small set of billing identifiers (such as an email tied to past invoices and referrals) is retained for tax and legal record-keeping, as described in the Privacy Policy. Everything else is erased.
Good to know
- Just want to stop paying? You don't have to delete. Downgrading to Free keeps your account and data — see "Cancel or change your plan."
- Deletion is immediate. There is no grace period or "restore within 30 days" window.
- If the Permanently Delete Account button won't turn on, check that the typed phrase matches the on-screen phrase exactly, including your email.
