PiggySize is built around one household, not one login. As the account owner, you can add your spouse and children as family members, then invite anyone 13 or older by email so they can sign in with their own account — all under your one subscription.
Before you start
- Adding and inviting family members is an owner action by default. (You can extend it to your spouse — see Set permissions for family members.)
- You can have one owner and one spouse, plus unlimited children.
- Invites need an email address, and PiggySize won't send one to anyone under 13.
Steps
- Open Settings (opens in a new tab) and select the Family tab.
- Click Add Family Member.
- Enter their Name, an optional Email, and choose a Relationship — Spouse/Partner or Child / Dependent (the Spouse/Partner option disappears once you already have one). Add an optional Birthday, then click Add Member.
- To give them sign-in access, find them in the family list, open the row's actions menu, and choose Send Invite. This needs an email on file, and won't appear if their birthday shows they're under 13.
- They'll get an email with a link to Accept Invitation, where they sign in or create an account to join your family.
How it works
- Your Relationship choice sets their role: Spouse/Partner becomes the spouse role, Child / Dependent becomes the child role. The owner role belongs to whoever created the account.
- Invites are token-based links that expire after 7 days. If one expires, reopen the actions menu and choose Resend Invite — this issues a new link and resets the 7-day clock.
- Revoke cancels a pending invite right away; you can send a new one afterward.
- One PiggySize subscription covers everyone in your family — there's no per-person charge for family members.
Good to know
- A family member doesn't need an email or an accepted invite to exist in PiggySize — you can add a child with no email just to track their birthday for HSA and retirement calculations, or to set up a 529 or custodial account for them. They just won't be able to sign in.
- Invitations to anyone under 13 are blocked — PiggySize checks this against the birthday on their family member record, so enter it before sending an invite.
- Child accounts have limited access by design: they only see their own items, and never see Snapshots, Milestones, Retirement, the AI Assistant, or the Scenario Tester. See Set permissions for family members for the full picture.
FAQ
How many family members can I add?
Unlimited children, but only one owner and one spouse per family.
Does inviting family members cost extra?
No — one PiggySize subscription covers the whole family.
What happens when an invite expires?
After 7 days the link stops working. Open that member's actions menu and choose Resend Invite to send a fresh one.
Can I invite a child who's under 13?
No. PiggySize blocks sign-in invitations to anyone under 13, but you can still add them as a family member without sending an invite.
